SimplyShe, Pet Wear and Accessories Supplier, Announces 2007 Sales Growth


San Francisco, CA (January 30, 2008) -- SimplyShe pet wear and accessories, America's leading pet chic supplier, announced today its year-end sales numbers of $25 million in 2007. The revenues mark a 300 percent growth from 2006.

"No dog left behind -- every dog deserves to be fashionable!" said SimplyShe President and Creative Director Maria Peevey.  "We are thrilled to see such a strong demand for our products, with more than 90 percent sell-through over the holidays.  We were the industry that avoided the Christmas retail crunch."

SimplyShe changed the face of the fast-growing pet product business when it unveiled its products nationwide at Wal-Marts last September.  The expansion marked a ten-fold increase of its designer dog products sold at mass market prices.  As a result of its agreement with Wal-Mart, SimplyShe's fourth quarter sales skyrocketed to $17 million.

SimplyShe's four pet brands -- SimplyDog, Lulu Pink, Max-A- Million and Big Paws --have a dedicated display shelf space at Wal-Mart stores nationally. The brands bring a wide range of dog fashion products to price-conscious buyers.

SimplyShe's expanded shelf space at Wal-Mart exemplifies the nationwide growth of the pet chic market. The $41 billion U.S. pet market is growing by 8 percent annually, according to the trade group American Pet Products Manufacturers Association. The fastest growing segment is the non-food pet market which continues to grow at more than 10 percent a year, with luxury items and "humanizing" accessories growing by up to 100 percent in 2006.

SimplyShe began in 2000 designing themed greeting cards and stationery for high-end boutiques, then developed specialty women's and children's clothing lines before deciding its best opportunities were in mass marketing. The company has rapidly expanded its pet apparel and accessory sales over the past two years while maintaining its original brands. Its pet brand sales went from less than $1 million in 2005 to $6 million in 2006 to an estimated $20 million in 2007; with its new partnership with Wal-Mart the company expects to at least triple pet brand revenue in 2008.
