GORE-TEX to Meet German Customs Laws with Precision GTM Software
Precision Software, a division of QAD and a provider of supply chain execution software for importers, exporters, domestic shippers and transportation providers, has announced that W.L Gore & Associates, maker of GORE-TEX fabric, has successfully deployed its PRECISION global trade management (GTM) solution, which includes certified integration to the electronic customs filing system of the German Federal Customs Administration known as ATLAS AES.

The solution positions Gore ahead of the curve to meet mandatory German customs filing requirements that come into effect starting July 1.

The German export authorities mandate requires that all paper export declarations be replaced by an electronic message - a small change, but one with a significant impact on how global companies do business, Precision reports.

W.L Gore & Associates chose the PRECISION solution because it offered both the multi-modal transportation and global trade management capabilities the company needed to support its global supply chain and diverse product portfolio. The solution is centrally located to manage shipping operations across its 45 sites around the world from a single database and is integrated with the company's existing enterprise software and warehouse management solutions.

Gore now has the ability to streamline import and export transportation processes, seamlessly connect to global customs agencies, manage global shipping costs and provide enhanced service to its customers.

QuestaWeb Certifies for ACE Broker Interface

QuestaWeb Inc., a provider of web-based integrated global trade management (GTM) solutions, has announced its certification on the Automated Broker Interface (ABI) for the U.S. Customs and Border Protection's (CBP) new Automated Commercial Environment (ACE).

QuestaWeb reports that it is the first vendor to obtain ACE ABI certification, allowing the firm to transmit and receive data on imported merchandise through a direct electronic interface with CBP. Use of this interface translates to more timely, complete and accurate data.

QuestaWeb's certification will allow customs brokers and importers using TradeMasterQW software to benefit from the enhancements the new compliance system brings. Better organized entry summary filing and response guides offer more descriptive information, which speeds up processing and eliminates delays, the company reports.
